With the new industry modules, you will have the option of not only easily activating your own modules in your environment in future apps - as before - but also loading existing industries.

This new feature is ideal for small companies that want to start working quickly with Odoo as standard.
Point of Sales: Umgestaltung
There were fundamental innovations in the POS module:
- Customers are able to order & pay with a QR code on their cell phone or at a self-service terminal.
- A new kitchen view module ensures that every order can be processed as efficiently as possible. In addition, it can also be used to put together online orders or to prepare large orders (e.g. in a furniture store).
- Menu adjustments in terms of design, but also price adjustments, have never been as easy to carry out as in Odoo v17.
- A new link with the Appointments module allows customers to reserve their table in the restaurant online.
ChatGPT in Odoo
Odoo has integrated ChatGPT across all modules in the new version and is therefore in tune with the times.
ChatGPT can be used, for example, to generate alternative texts. The possibilities here are endless.
ChatGPT will play a crucial role in the future, especially in the website module: from now on it is possible to create automatically generated content that is ideal for your business. This makes creating websites even easier.
Website News
The website module already received crucial innovations in the previous v16. With the current improvements, Odoo is making another big leap:
- The “Website Scraper” is live. This means that in the future every website can be turned into an Odoo page. Tedious data migrations are now a thing of the past.
- All uploaded images are automatically converted to WebP format. This is significantly smaller in size than common formats such as JPEG or PNG and ensures a shorter loading time for the website - which in turn has a positive effect on SEO.
- In addition, the website module has been improved by further points: Better overview of page templates, new design for header and footer, improved form library, as well as tags and variants in eCommerce.
- In addition, the customer portal, as well as the eCommerce front-end, events, forums and appointments were completely revised.

WhatsApp is integrated into Odoo standard from v17. The new feature includes the following sending functions:

Odoo also listened to the community's feedback in supply management and implemented the following changes:
- New manufacturing order overview centralizes all relevant data, including component status and reorder options. In the dynamic report you can now easily compare dealer conditions directly.
- New workshop module replaces the tablet view.
- As soon as a production order is confirmed, it is displayed in the workshop module. Production employees can easily follow or access each work step instruction per station.
- In v17 it is now also possible to process production orders with a barcode scanner or any mobile device. Simply scan the components used and everything will be updated accordingly.
- Picking has been revised and it is now possible to receive current quantities for each location as soon as the product is reserved.

A localization for payroll accounting in Austria is not included in the current version.
The legal requirements for Austrian employee time tracking are not included in the Odoo Standard v17. We have developed our own module for this:dp Time Report.
Buchhaltung
The new version has new localizations for handling accounting in Odoo. These include for example the following countries: Belgium, Mexico, Brazil and Spain.
- The accounting appnow supports “Peppol” as standard. A standardized e-invoicing tool.
- With an automatic scam protection, you will receive an immediate warning if you set up a transfer where the bank account is not marked as trustworthy.
- Managing deferred taxes can now happen independently of assets. This ensures that deferred invoice items and deferred costs can be created easily - without setting up appropriate models in advance.
Localization for accounting in Austria is not included in the current version.
As an Odoo Gold implementation partner, however, we know what is important and have already mapped the entire accounting for companies in Austria in Odoo several times.
Tagungsräume, Empfang, To-do
In the last version there was only one new app: Knowledge. In the current version there are two fantastic new apps:
1. Conference rooms App
Includes a viewing mode where you can view current and future meetings. It is also possible to book a conference room for a new meeting directly from the display mode. This can be done, for example, simply using a tablet next to the conference room.
2. Reception App
Easily keep track of all your visitors with the reception app. A guest has the option of checking in via the module, informing a person directly that they have arrived and you can even make a drink request.
Notes app becomes to-do app
A simple app to increase productivity. In the future, every to-do can be converted into a project task in order to work even more efficiently.
